How to Send Transactional Emails with Our API

April 8, 2026 · 8 min read

Transactional emails are the backbone of any modern web application. Order confirmations, password resets, welcome emails, and shipping notifications all fall into this category. Unlike marketing emails, transactional emails are triggered by user actions and are expected immediately.

1. Getting Your API Key

Sign up at mailerapp.papeyes.com and navigate to Settings > API Keys. Generate a new key and store it securely. Never expose your API key in frontend code.

2. Sending Your First Email

The Papeyes API uses a simple REST endpoint. Here is a complete example:

const response = await fetch('https://mailerapp.papeyes.com/api/v1/send_mail.php', {
  method: 'POST',
  headers: { 'Content-Type': 'application/json' },
  body: JSON.stringify({
    to: 'customer@example.com',
    subject: 'Your order has shipped!',
    html: '<h1>Order #12345</h1><p>Your package is on its way.</p>',
    domain: 'yourstore.com'
  })
});
const data = await response.json();
// { success: true, message_id: "msg_abc123" }

3. Handling Responses

Every API call returns a JSON response with a success boolean. On success, you will receive a message_id that you can use to track delivery status. On failure, the message field explains what went wrong.

Email Deliverability Best Practices 2026

April 2, 2026 · 10 min read

In 2026, email deliverability is more complex than ever. Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo have all tightened their filtering algorithms. Here is what you need to do to ensure your emails reach the inbox.

Authentication Is Non-Negotiable

Every sending domain must have properly configured SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Without all three, major providers will increasingly reject or spam-folder your messages.

Papeyes configures all three automatically when you add a sending domain to your account.

List Hygiene

Remove hard bounces immediately. Suppress addresses that have not engaged in 90+ days. Use double opt-in for all new subscribers. A clean list is the single most impactful thing you can do for deliverability.

Content Matters

Monitor Your Reputation

Use Google Postmaster Tools and Microsoft SNDS to monitor your sending domain and IP reputation. Papeyes provides a built-in reputation dashboard that aggregates these signals.

Why Businesses Choose Papeyes for Email

Managing email across a portfolio of 200+ websites is a unique challenge. Before building MailerApp, we tried every major email provider: SendGrid, Mailgun, Amazon SES, Postmark. None of them handled our use case well. Here is why we built our own and why it works for businesses of every size.

The Multi-Domain Problem

Most email providers charge per domain or make multi-domain management painful. When you operate hundreds of sites, you need a single dashboard that lets you manage sending domains, subscriber lists, and campaigns from one place. Papeyes was built with multi-domain as a first-class feature.

Unified Lead Pipeline

Every site in our network captures leads through contact forms, newsletter signups, and scheduling requests. All of these flow into a single CRM powered by the same API. No more juggling between Mailchimp, HubSpot, and a spreadsheet.

Cost at Scale

At 10 million emails per month, external providers quoted us $3,000 to $8,000 monthly. Self-hosting the infrastructure and building the management layer cost a fraction of that, and we pass those savings to our users.
